Stankoven, Stars merchandise in demand, says Jersey City store manager
KAMLOOPS — Logan Stankoven fever is manifesting at Jersey City in Aberdeen Mall, according to store manager Matt Axani.
“It’s been pretty crazy,” Axani said. “The town is really supporting him. The whole family is getting jerseys.”
Stankoven and his Dallas Stars are jostling with the Edmonton Oilers in the NHL’s Western Conference final, with the best-of-seven series tied at 1-1 and Game 3 slated for Monday (May 27) in the Alberta capital.
The 5-foot-8 Kamloopsian Stankoven began the campaign toiling for the Texas Stars, playing about two-thirds of the American Hockey League season and doing enough to earn rookie of the year honours before making the jump to NHL-affiliate Dallas and sticking.
