KAMLOOPS — Regular Kamloops city council meetings will no longer begin in the afternoon.
Council voted during its regular meeting on Tuesday (April 23) to change the start time to 9:30 a.m. from 1:30 p.m. for future regular meetings. The decision will be revisited in three months.
City of Kamloops Corporate Officer Maria Mazzotta noted the ideal scenario is for regular meetings to wrap up by noon, with closed meetings to take place in the afternoon.
Councillor Nancy Bepple said it is possible quite a few meetings will not be finished by noon, noting this council’s meetings start at 1:30 p.m. and often continue to 5:00 p.m.
