Three arrested after weapons call leads Mounties to Kootenay Way home, Columbia Street motel
KAMLOOPS — A weapons report brought the RCMP’s Southeast District Emergency Response Team (SED ERT) to Kamloops Wednesday (Apr. 17).
In a news release, spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn says the report led Kamloops Mounties to a home on Kootenay Way and a motel on Columbia Street.
Evelyn says police remain at the Kootenay Way address as they await the approval of a search warrant.
“Due to the reported presence of a firearm and the subsequent increased risk assessment, police requested the assistance of the Southeast District Emergency Response Team,” said Evelyn. “The team was able to help safely clear a residence, as well as take two of the three suspects into custody. The general public is not believed to be at risk.”
