Blurry photos lead to charge against Salmon Arm hit-and-run suspect

KAMLOOPS — A man has been charged in a December hit-and-run in Salmon Arm.

Police say a sedan hit a female pedestrian on Fifth Avenue Southwest on December 8, 2023. The driver took off, but the woman sustained several broken bones.

In the days that followed, Salmon Arm RCMP released a pair of blurry photos showing the suspect vehicle. Seeing those photos, a man turned himself in at the Salmon Arm detachment on December 12.

Investigators got a search warrant and seized the suspect vehicle from a local home.

In a news release issued Tuesday (Apr. 16), RCMP say 31-year-old Eric Jones is facing a single count of failing to stop at the scene of an accident.
