Man who reportedly confronted police with a sword arrested in Salmon Arm on outstanding warrants

SALMON ARM, B.C. — A 28-year-old man who reportedly confronted police with a sword was arrested on outstanding warrants in Salmon Arm.
In a news release issued Friday (April 5), Salmon Arm RCMP say officers went to a home within city limits on March 28 to arrest a man on outstanding warrants for failing to attend court.
Once officers were at the home, RCMP say the man allegedly confronted them with a sword. He was then disarmed, arrested and sent to cells.
The man was charged with assaulting a peace officer with intent to resist arrest, assaulting a peace officer with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
