Madonna has responded to the class-action lawsuit filed against her over delayed concert start times. The pop star’s lawyers have filed a motion to dismiss the case, arguing that inconveniences like having trouble finding a ride home or needing to wake up early for work are not valid injuries. The lawsuit stems from three concerts in New York where Madonna started her performances more than two hours later than scheduled. Plaintiffs claim breach of contract, violation of state laws, and false advertising. However, Madonna’s lawyers countered that the plaintiffs left the concerts satisfied and did not suffer any real injury. Madonna’s lawyers argued that concerts rarely start on time, and that hers in particular are well known for their late starts. They also pointed out one of the fans posted on Facebook the day after that concert that he had “never missed a Madonna Tour” and that he later told CNN he had “been to every Madonna tour since 1985,” making it clear the late start time couldn’t have come as a surprise, the motion read.
