KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP responded to approximately 338 calls for service from Friday, March 22 to 9 a.m. on Monday, March 25, 2024. Below are some incidents police attended.

Stolen truck

Kamloops RCMP are asking the public to be on the lookout for a truck that was stolen from a parking lot while its driver was shopping.

The early 2000s model white Ford pickup truck was reported stolen from the 1000-block of Hillside Drive between 4:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. Sunday.

The truck had a canoe rack, Sun Peaks sticker on the back window, front bumper light bar, led headlights, front and back license plates PD7453 and a child seat inside.

Unwanted downtown guests

Two men and a woman were arrested then released with court dates and conditions after someone noticed people in a downtown home when no one was supposed to be inside.

RCMP say officers were called to the home on the 500-block of Nicola Street Sunday where a person had entered the basement suite of a house that was supposed to be vacant.

Officers found a broken door and three people sleeping inside who reportedly did not have permission to be there. RCMP say break-in tools and property believed to be stolen were also seized.

Downtown break-in and theft

RCMP are looking for witnesses and information related to a smash and grab in downtown Kamloops.

At around 11:20 p.m. Sunday, RCMP say officers were called to the 200-block of Victoria Street, where a business had its glass door broken and beauty products and jewelry stolen.

Anyone with information or video related to the investigation is asked to contact Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000.
