Highway 1 west of Revelstoke closed for most of the day due to vehicle incident

UPDATE (10:00 a.m.): DriveBC says traffic reopened in both directions.

EARLIER: REVELSTOKE, B.C. — Drivers traveling east of the Shuswap are being warned of a lengthy closure Thursday (March 21).

DriveBC says the Trans Canada Highway near the Enchanted Forest 28 kilometres west of Revelstoke is closed in both directions. It’s due to a vehicle incident that was reported shortly after 7:00 a.m. Thursday.

A detour is not available, and the stretch of Highway 1 is not expected to reopen until 4:00 p.m.
