Thousands without power on the North Shore Thursday morning

UPDATE (8:30 a.m.): Power has been restored.

UPDATE (5:45 a.m.): BC Hydro says power is expected to be restored for 3,453 customers on the North Shore at around 9:00 a.m. Thursday.

The impacted area has been updated to cover north of Copperhead Drive, west of Kamloopa Road, east of Mission Flats Road and south of Sunset Ridge Way.

EARLIER: KAMLOOPS — Power has been knocked out for thousands of residents in the North Shore neighbourhood Thursday (March 21) morning.

On its outage map online, BC Hydro says 3,420 customers in Kamloops have been without power since 4:41 a.m. due to a fire.

The impacted area covers north of University Drive, west of Kamloopa Road, east of Clifford Avenue and south of Venables Place.

A crew has been assigned to the outage. They’re expected to arrive at around 5:30 a.m. Thursday.
