KAMLOOPS — Multiple loaded firearms and a stolen vehicle were seized and three men were arrested after an investigation led police to a hotel in Kamloops on Saturday (March 9).

The Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit of British Columbia issued a news release on Monday, noting gasoline canisters were found inside the vehicle parked outside of the hotel.

Loaded handguns, ammunition, the gas canisters and the vehicle were seized, along with body armour that was worn by one of the men who was arrested.

The investigation is ongoing and each of the three men have been released without charges, according to the release.

“The seizure of firearms by CFSEU-BC officers in partnership with the Kamloops RCMP and Southeast District Emergency Response Team has reduced the risk to the public’s safety,” CFSEU-BC Staff Sgt. Lindsey Houghton said in the release.

“Any time we can take firearms out of the hands of those who might be willing to use them for criminal acts means that communities are safer.”

Several social media posts identify the hotel as the Travelodge on Rogers Way.
