New municipal adviser attends first Kamloops council meeting

KAMLOOPS — After a decision was made to replace Peter Fassbender as the municipal adviser for Kamloops city council last year, his replacement, along with ministerial staff, arrived in Kamloops this week.
On Tuesday (Feb. 27), Henry Braun, the former mayor of Abbotsford, attended the regular meeting of council, taking notes and getting a better understanding of the issues at hand.
The need for a municipal adviser from the ministry stems from a Kamloops council vote in September 2023. It was hoped the individual could help smooth over the working relationship between council and Mayor Reid Hamer-Jackson.
