KAMLOOPS — Senior officials at Thompson Rivers University (TRU) are set to respond face-to-face to Kamloops council’s pointed stance on a pedestrian overpass over Summit Drive.

TRU President Brett Fairbairn and Warren Asuchak, associate vice-president campus infrastructure, sustainability and ancillary services, will appear as delegation during Tuesday’s (Feb. 27) regular council meeting.

According to the meeting’s agenda, the topic of discussion will be a response to council voting to send a letter to TRU indicating its support of the Summit Overpass is dependent on its being built 275 metres north of the McGill Road intersection. On Feb. 6, multiple Kamloops councillors expressed frustration with TRU’s desire to see the project built 70 metres from the intersection.
