WolfPack basketball teams drop games to UVic to wrap up regular seasons

KAMLOOPS — Thompson Rivers University’s (TRU) men’s and women’s basketball teams finished their seasons with a pair of losses on Vancouver Island Thursday (Feb. 15).
The men’s WolfPack trailed the top-ranked University of Victoria (UVic) Vikes 34-26 at the half. Although that would be the closest TRU would get as the Vikes ran away with an 88-55 win. Daniel Bost led the WolfPack in scoring in their final game with 12 points on 5-for-13 shooting while adding three rebounds, two steals and an assist.
Elsewhere, the women’s WolfPack fell to the Vikes 70-41 after a 25-7 UVic first quarter kept the ‘Pack behind the eight-ball. Kelsey Cruz led TRU offensively with 14 points on 4-for-8 shooting.
The men finish the 2023-24 Canada West season 6-14 while the women finish 2-18. The two WolfPack squads finished 14th and 15th respectively in the final standings. Both teams finished outside of the playoff picture.
