LILLOOET, B.C. — Police in Lillooet are cautioning the public of multiple wolf sightings in the town last week.

In a news release issued Tuesday (Feb. 6), the BC Conservation Officer Service (COS) is encouraging residents in Lillooet to keep all pets and livestock secured when possible.

“Wolves are territorial animals and have a very large habitat range, it is common to see/hear wolves in rural areas,” Connor Bain, COS officer says. “The main natural food source for wolves are large ungulates such as deer and moose. Please do not approach and feed any wolves or other wildlife.”

Anyone who spots wolves or wildlife in urban areas is encouraged to contact the Report a Poacher and Polluter hotline at 1-877-952-7277.
