KAMLOOPS — The Trans Canada Highway through the Fraser Canyon will be closed in both directions overnight.

In a news release issued Tuesday (Jan. 23) morning, B.C.’s Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure says a temporary bridge is being removed at the Falls Creek (Jackass Mountain) construction site south of Lytton and it requires a full closure of the stretch of Highway 1.

Highway 1 through the Fraser Canyon will be closed from 9:00 p.m. Tuesday until 5:00 a.m. Wednesday.

Drivers travelling between Kamloops and area and the Lower Mainland can still take the Coquihalla Highway or Highway 3 from Hope to Princeton during that time.
