RCMP say vehicle veered into oncoming lane, causing horrific fatal crash near Monte Lake Tuesday

MONTE LAKE, B.C. — RCMP say they still aren’t ultimately sure why two vehicles collided near Monte Lake earlier this week, resulting in the deaths of four people.
The crash took place on Highway 97 at about 9:00 a.m. Tuesday (Jan. 16).
In an email to CFJC Today, Cst. Chris Terleski of Vernon North Okanagan RCMP says preliminary investigation has determined a northbound vehicle carrying four occupants crossed the centre line, hitting a southbound vehicle head-on.
Terleski says investigators have yet to find any indication of why the northbound vehicle crossed into the path of the other vehicle.
