Snowfall warnings issued for Okanagan Connector and Shuswap
KAMLOOPS — Snowfall warnings have blanketed portions of B.C.’s Interior Monday (Jan. 8) morning, including in areas around Kamloops.
Environment Canada issued a snowfall warning for the Shuswap region and the Okanagan Connector Highway from Merritt to Kelowna.
The Okanagan Connector could see snowfall exceed 15 centimetres between Monday afternoon and Wednesday morning. The weather agency warns that weather in the mountain can change suddenly resulting in hazardous driving conditions and is asking travellers to adjust their driving with changing road conditions.
Meanwhile, around 10 centimetres of snow is expected for the Shuswap between Monday afternoon and Wednesday morning. Environment Canada says snow is expected to be heavy at times, making travel difficult in some locations and reducing visibility suddenly.
