Rapid Cool Mechanical was established in 1991 and, over the course of three decades, its team has maintained the highest service and quality in their ever-expanding field.

“When we first started, it was to just be a heating and a/c contractor but now its developed to be a top service provider to Kamloops and area customers in the heating, cooling and refrigeration market,” said owner Steve Warner of Rapid Cool’s growth.

Since first opening, the company has added countless services such as heat pumps and indoor air quality products. It has even expanded into summer cooking products, offering Saber barbecues and Green Mountain pellet smokers. Expansion has been a key development tactic for Rapid Cool.

“Growth is important to any company’s success,” said Warner. “Growth through acquisition is one way of doing that efficiently.”

The Rapid Cool family has expanded many times over the years with mergers like the 2016 acquisition of Optimum Air and the most recent acquisition of Johnson Walsh Plumbing and Heating this year.

Another factor in Rapid Cool’s continued success is the team’s dedication to constantly training their technicians.

“Quality labor force has always been a challenge in our industry. By training young apprentices, we are combating that,” said Warner.

Rapid Cool now boasts a staff of 19 employees ready to offer expert design and installation as well as skilled maintenance and repair.

This dedication to the customer’s experience has extended to the company’s dispatching service as well, which can alert customers when their technicians are dispatched, let them know when to anticipate their arrival and even includes a photo of the technician so customers know who to expect when they open their front door.

“Since we have a large focus on residential customers, it has always been important to give great service,” said Warner. “Adding features like notifications when the technician is dispatched to your location has done that.”

All this work has earned Rapid Cool a sparkling reputation as well as notoriety. As a licensed Bryant Factory Dealer, the company is a seven-time Circle of Champions designee and has recently become the first company in Canada to be awarded the Charles Bryant Award.

“Winning the award is more for the team here at Rapid Cool,” said Warner. “It gives them the recognition they earned in a national spotlight for being a top-quality heating and cooling provider in our community.”
