Statutory holidays throw wrench in curbside pickup schedules

KAMLOOPS — With two of the three statutory holidays now completed, the waste and recycling pickup in Kamloops is almost back to normal.
However, following the extended Christmas long-weekend, and ahead of New Years, things could be pilling up awaiting pickup. With that in mind, Environmental Services Manager Glenn Farrow advised families download the city’s Waste Wise App and utilize services throughout the community.
“The first step in all of it is understanding on what day, what waste is being collected from your property,” said Farrow. “There are great resources throughout the whole community, we look at the Recycle BC Depot, those are great resources to handle all that extra paper, plastic, glass, refundables, all of that product can go to those facilities.”
