KAMLOOPS — Kamloops teen Cassie McNutt has announced the winner of her 50/50 drive in support of the Kamloops Hospice Society.

McNutt drew Anita Geensen’s name Thursday (Dec. 21). Geensen is the lucky winner of $26,360. An equal amount will go to hospice.

This is the fifth year McNutt and her family have organized a fundraising drive for the local hospice.

The campaign includes an invitation for Kamloops residents to visit the family home in Dallas, which is lit up with thousands of lights to celebrate the season.

Earlier this year, McNutt reported the drive had already raised more than $50,000, with the proceeds of the 50/50 draw over and above that total.

She says the draw sold more than 6,200 tickets to donors across the province.
