Boudreau named head coach for Canada’s Spengler Cup squad
CALGARY — Veteran NHL coach Bruce Boudreau will make his international coaching debut as Canada’s bench boss for the upcoming Spengler Cup.
Hockey Canada made the announcement on Friday.
Larry Mitchell and Jeff Tomlinson, both with EHC Kloten in Switzerland, and Jim Playfair, associate coach with the Western Hockey League’s Prince George Cougars, were named Boudreau’s assistants.
“All four coaches bring many years of experience coaching in the NHL, AHL, and Europe.” said Brad Pascall, the team’s co-general manager alongside NHL great Joe Thornton. ‘We know this diversity will be beneficial to our team.'”
