THE SEVENTH SEASON OF ‘STATION 19’ WILL BE ITS LAST: According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Grey’s Anatomy spinoff Station 19 will be ending with its seventh season. Executive producer Shonda Rhimes said goodbye to the show on Instagram Friday (December 8th). “Grateful for an unforgettable run. A heartfelt salute to the exceptional cast whose brilliance brought the characters to life and to the viewers who continued to make it possible! Thank you for the magic, the moments, and the memories. #station19,” she wrote alongside a photo of the cast. Jaina Lee Ortiz, who has played Andy Herrera on the show since 2018, shared Rhimes’ post to her Instagram story and wrote, “Still processing this… The love runs so deep. Thank you, Shonda.”
ADAM DRIVER JOKES THAT ‘WOKENESS KILLED HAN SOLO:’ While hosting Saturday Night Live over the weekend, Adam Driver joked about all the flak he gets from Star Wars fans. Driver plays villain Kylo Ren in the franchise, who kills the character Han Solo in The Force Awakens. “I would like people to stop coming up to me on the street saying, ‘You killed Han Solo!’,” he said during his opening monologue, according to Variety. “I didn’t kill him. Wokeness killed Han Solo.”
CLAIRE FOY SAYS SHE LEFT ‘THE CROWN’ FOR HER ‘OWN SANITY:’ Claire Foy, the actor who portrayed Queen Elizabeth in the first two seasons of the hit Netflix show The Crown, spoke with People recently about why she decided to leave the show. “I’ve got a lot of love for the people who are still doing the show, but for my own sanity, I ended the show when I ended it,” she said. “I let it go and moved on and I think that’s quite healthy.”
JULIA STILES RECREATES SCENE FROM ‘SAVE THE LAST DANCE’ ON ‘SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE:’ Deadline reports that Julia Stiles made a surprise cameo on Saturday Night Live over the weekend. During the “Weekend Update” segment, cast member Chloe Fineman said, “The perfect holiday gift this year is the dance that Julia Stiles does at the end of the 2001 movie ‘Save the Last Dance.’” She and Stiles then recreated the scene together, in which Styles’ character auditions to get into Julliard.
