KAMLOOPS — Round ball returns to Tournament Capital Centre Friday and Saturday at the TRU Wolfpack will be welcoming the visiting Regina Cougars for a pair of games.

The Men’s and Women’s teams are in different boats as they return to home court, with the women sweeping the Brandon Bobcats and the men dropping a pair of tight games a weekend ago.

Taking on the Regina Cougars at 5:30 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday, the ‘Pack will be trying to pick up their third-consecutive victory in CW play for the first time since 2017.

The games will pit the 2-2 WolfPack with a Cougars squad that is searching for their first victory of the season.

TRU had their most successful road weekend since the 2017-18 season last time out in Brandon. The squad picked up their first weekend sweep since 2019 and first road sweep since 2017 with wins of 77-72 and 70-54.

The men meanwhile will be looking to bounce back against an undefeated Cougars roster.

The ‘Pack will be trying to get back to the .500 mark on the season after a difficult weekend in Brandon saw them drop a pair of extremely close contests. TRU fell 83-76 on Friday and then 85-84 in overtime on Saturday.

The games for both the women and men on Friday night will be Hometown Heroes Night with local heroes like Kamloops Fire Rescue, BC Wilfire, Interior Health, RCMP, Rocky Mountain Rangers, and School District staff receiving free entry.
