Man found dead near Heffley Creek after truck goes down embankment
KAMLOOPS — One man was found dead near a truck that reportedly went down a steep embankment near Heffley Creek on Todd Mountain Road.
In a news release issued Thursday (Nov. 9), Tk’emlups Rural RCMP say they were told of the collision just before 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, although the truck was reportedly there for a few days.
RCMP say the man found near the truck is believed to have been the driver and sole occupant of the truck.
“Due to the placement of the collision scene, a section of the roadway was temporarily closed during the late afternoon while police, the coroner, and Kamloops Search and Rescue worked to retrieve the victim from the steep terrain,” said Tk’emlups detachment spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn.
