KAMLOOPS — A former Kamloops Blazer is set to make his NHL debut Wednesday night (Nov. 1) for the Calgary Flames as they welcome the Dallas Stars to the Saddledome.

Connor Zary spent four seasons with the Kamloops Blazers including serving as team captain during the COVID-19 pod season. Suiting up for more than 200 games in Blazers blue and orange, Zary tallied 79 goals and 127 helpers.

Drafted by the Flames in the first round of the 2020 entry draft, Zary has been skating with the AHL’s Calgary Wranglers. This year, the forward has scored once and added 9 assists in just 6 games played.

Zary is the second Blazer to make his NHL debut this season, joining current forward Fraser Minten with the Toronto Maple Leafs. Minten is expected to make his regular season debut with the Blazers on Friday (Nov. 3) when the team hosts the Red Deer Rebels.
