Overnight vehicle incident halts northbound traffic on Coquihalla Highway south of Merritt

MERRITT, B.C. — Northbound traffic on the Coquihalla Highway from Hope to Merritt will need to hang tight Wednesday (Oct. 25) morning.
DriveBC first reported of a vehicle incident on the stretch of Highway 5 two kilometres south of Merritt at around 11:55 p.m. Tuesday.
DriveBC says the estimated time of reopening for the northbound lanes is 8 a.m. Wednesday. Meantime, drivers are encouraged to take an alternate route.
Snow advisories for the Coquihalla Highway from Hope to Kamloops and the Okanagan Connector from Merritt to Kelowna were called off by Environment Canada at around 4:30 a.m. Wednesday.
