Merritt hospital emergency room to close overnight Friday to Saturday

MERRITT, B.C. — The Nicola Valley Hospital in Merritt will have its 17th emergency room closure of 2023 Friday night (Oct. 13).

In a news release, Interior Health says the ER in Merritt will be closed from 7:00 p.m. Friday to 8:00 a.m. Saturday due to unexpected limited staffing availability.

All other inpatient services will continue as normal.

People in need of emergency care are advised to call 9-1-1 or to attend the emergency room at Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops.
