KAMLOOPS — The City of Kamloops has joined an international coalition looking to eliminate discrimination.

At Kamloops City Hall Friday (Oct. 13), Mayor Reid Hamer-Jackson signed an official declaration uniting the city with the Canadian Commission for UNESCO’s Coalition of Inclusive Municipalities.

Councillor Nancy Bepple initially proposed that the city join the group this summer, citing the city’s declared emphasis on inclusivity in its strategic plan.

There are now 96 Canadian jurisdictions in the group, including Williams Lake and Vancouver.
