TRU community comes together for 12th Annual Pride Parade

KAMLOOPS – On Wednesday (Sept. 27), the Thompson Rivers University Students Union celebrated its 12th Annual Pride Parade.

Hundreds of students and faculty members gathered outside the Old Main building, festooned with signs and colorful attire.

“I’m really glad that everyone has gathered today and has come together to show their solidarity with the community,” said Monalisa Hazarika, TRUSU LGBTQIA representative. “It’s a time to celebrate and be proud of who we are.”

Following speeches from various members of the campus pride community, the group paraded across campus and back with the goal of being seen and creating awareness.
