The City seeks volunteers for Build Kamloops working groups
KAMLOOPS – The City of Kamloops is looking for volunteers to participate in the Build Kamloops working groups and provide input on the future of community facilities in Kamloops.
“Build Kamloops is about improving the quality of life for all of our residents through more equitable opportunities for recreation, arts, and culture,” said Councillor Mike O’Reilly, Build Kamloops Select Committee Chair. He adds, “Council has prioritized the development of amenities to create exceptional experiences and new opportunities for residents and visitors.”
According to a recent news release, the Council has authorized the staff to establish the Build Kamloops Council Select Committee on June 27, 2023. The purpose of this committee is to offer recommendations for executing the strategies mentioned in the Recreation Master Plan and potentially adding other necessary civic facilities.
The committee will receive information from four working groups: Communications Working Group, Concept Development Working Group, Community User Engagement Working Group and Program Finance Working Group. These groups will meet a minimum of four times per calendar year, starting in October 2023.
