UPDATE (8:30 a.m.): DriveBC says Highway 1 between Salmon Arm and Tappen fully reopened.
EARLIER: SALMON ARM, B.C. — A stretch of the Trans Canada Highway in the Shuswap is closed in both directions.
In a social media post at around 6:20 a.m. Thursday (Sept. 7), DriveBC says a vehicle incident has closed Highway 1 between Salmon Arm and Tappen. The incident happened between Tappen Beach Road and Sandy Point Road.
A detour is not available, and residents are asked to use an alternate route.
