Annual Tomato Festival returns to Kamloops
KAMLOOPS — Tomato lovers in Kamloops and surrounding areas will have an opportunity next week to show off their sweet looking fruits.
The Kamloops Farmers’ Market along with the K’wese’ltken Farmer and Artisan Market are excited for the annual Tomato Festival beginning September 9 and lasting until September 16.
In a news release, the Kamloops Farmers Market say the festival will begin with a tomato competition. It is open to the public to bring their tomatoes to compete in four categories: largest by weight, most colourful, most unusual shape, and greatest number in a single cluster.
On September 10 the K’wese’ltken Market will have the K’wese’ltken Kitchen on site for tomato canning demos, information and more. On September 13 The Midweek Market (13th) will have Mount Paul Community Food Centre on site discussing their programs and how they contribute to improving food security and food sovereignty for our community.
