KAMLOOPS — August 31 is International Overdose Awareness Day. Addiction Matters Kamloops, along with Tkʼemlúps te Secwépemc, is hosting a movie night to increase awareness of the drug crisis.
“The movie is called Kimmapiiyipitssini, an indigenous word that means empathy, to give kindness to others,” explained Troylana Manson, an advocate with Moms Stop The Harm. “We are hoping that this movie is something just to help remind people that we need to be kind, not only to others, but to ourselves as well,” she said.
The event will be happening at Paramount Theatre Thursday (Aug. 31). Tickets are free and available on Eventbrite.
