Truck carrying donated goods for North Shuswap residents makes delivery in Anglemont
ANGLEMONT, B.C. — A trailer and transport truck carrying physical goods for North Shuswap residents caught behind evacuation lines was able to make its delivery.
After collecting donated physical goods in Kamloops on Wednesday (Aug. 23), organizer Abbey Bereti says they reached their destination at the Lakeview Community Centre in Anglemont Friday afternoon.
“Our permit was for delivery to the Anglemont community on Wednesday,” Bereit told CFJC Today. “Despite having a permit to access Anglemont via the Squilax-Anglemont [Road], our driver was turned away at the checkpoint. We ended up having to take the load back to Kamloops until we could figure out a plan B. Through trucks, forklifts, barges and vehicles, the donations were delivered successfully.”
