KAMLOOPS — It’s another Saturday morning for Marie Bijok. Displaying her baked goods as a vendor at the Kamloops Farmers Market for people to buy.

“Pretzels, scones, little pizza buns, spinach croissants, chocolate marzipan croissants,” said Bijok.

Bijok has more than 40 years creating a variety of European sweet treats and nearly 20 displaying them at the farmers market. Baking a selection of cakes is what she started with at Bohemia Bakery before she decided to stop a few years ago for more flexibility.

“I like it. It was difficult and it wasn’t easy because I love it but I like it now. It’s a little bit easier on me and I’m getting older right? So we just do one market and I’m loving it again.”

Through the hundreds of sweets she sells, there are some popular ones people crave for.

“Cinnamon buns, pretzels, lemon loaves.” Bijok laughed.

There is no doubt Bijok has put effort towards making these baked goods. Her loyalty towards the farmers market is something that is appreciated.

“That’s how excited and passionate these vendors are about the market,” Market Manager Greg Unger told CFJC Today. “It takes all of us to make the market what it is. It’s everybody here who bring their passion who make it so exciting.”

You can checkout Bohemia Bakery at the farmers market every Saturdays until October 28.
