Rising temperatures expected to increase activity in Ross Moore Lake wildfire

KAMLOOPS – B.C. Wildfire Service (BCWS) says fire behaviour in the Ross Moore Lake wildfire is expected to increase with higher temperatures forecasted. However, no strong winds is expected.
Crews are currently working on containment line construction along the south flank of the fire and guard is being constructed northeast of Frogmoore Creek.
BCWS warns that smoke may be visible from Kamloops, Highway 5, Highway 5A and surrounding areas.
As of this morning (Aug. 26), 72 firefighters were working on the Ross Moore Lake wildfire, along with 38 pieces of heavy equipment and 5 line locators. The fire is currently at 7,853 hectares.
