Bush Creek East: Increase in fire behaviour with rising temperature
KAMLOOPS — Fire behaviour within the Bush Creek East wildfire is expected to increase with rising temperatures according to the latest update from the BC Wildfire Service (BCWS). Active fire spots will be more visible and additional smoke will be produced throughout the weekend.
Aircraft was used to attack the wildfire Friday. The BCWS says crews are mopping up above cabins west and east of Adams Lake. The has been no growth in the last 72 hours and good progress has been made.
Structure protection operations are continuing in the community of Celista. Helicopters with buckets will continue to assist where needed.
In the Lee Creek and Scotch Creek areas, two unit crews are working protection lines with the assistance of heavy equipment above the community, along the fire’s edge. Structure protection task force teams are also working in Scotch Creek, Lee Creek, Turtle Valley and Sorrento.
