United Way BC opens window for wildfire relief grant applications
KAMLOOPS — The United Way BC has opened grant applications for wildfire relief efforts in the province.
In a news release Wednesday (Aug. 23) morning, the non-profit group that delivers resources and support to British Columbians says it opened its United for BC Wildfire Recovery Fund for agencies aiming to provide immediate relief, long-term recovery and preparedness for those impacted by wildfires.
United Way BC says it’s extending its support to communities such as Kamloops, Lytton, Merritt, Sicamous, Sorrento and the North Shuswap. The non-profit also says it supports programs focused on mental wellness, welcome-back events, counselling services and reviving social spaces.
