One suspect arrested, one at large as Kamloops RCMP recover stolen Alberta vehicle

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP recovered a vehicle Sunday afternoon that had been stolen out of Alberta.

Police say a patrol car spotted a suspicious vehicle at Halston Avenue and the Halston Connector Road. A quick check revealed the silver KIA was reported stolen.

According to an RCMP news release, two people fled from the car. One remains at large while the other, a Kamloops woman, was arrested in a nearby bathroom with the keys to the car in her possession.

She was taken into custody but has since been released with conditions. The incident occurred Sunday (Aug. 20) at approximately 12:15 p.m.
