Wildfires impacting postal service in Kamloops, Shuswap and Okanagan
KAMLOOPS — Canada Post says the wildfires are affecting its ability to deliver mail and parcels in the region.
It’s declared a Red Alert in Kamloops, Chase, Scotch Creek, and Sorrento. The Red Alert is also in effect for Kelowna, Kaleden, Keremeos, Lake Country, Okanagan Falls, Oliver, Osoyoos, Peachland, Princeton, Shalalth, and Summerland.
When a red alert is declared, mail delivery is suspended and those delivering the mail are called back.
A yellow alert has been declared in the communities of West Kelowna, Boston Bar, Gold Bridge and Seton Portage. In a yellow alert, Canada Post acknowledges that delivery services will likely be slower.
