Man taken to hospital after shooting on the North Shore
KAMLOOPS — A man was sent to hospital with life-threatening injures after a shooting on the North Shore early Friday (Aug. 18) morning.
In a news release, Kamloops RCMP say there were reports of shots and a person screaming at a Brentwood Avenue home just after midnight.
Officers arrived and found a man in his 30s suffering from a gunshot wound. Police say a suspect was reportedly seen running toward the North Thompson River.
“The investigation is still in its infancy and a visible police presence remains in the area while officers secure the scene, canvass the neighbourhood, and collect evidence that may be related,” Cpl. Crystal Evelyn says. “We are requesting that residents please contact police as soon as possible if they have any security or dash camera footage from the area, or if they heard or saw anything that may be related.”
