Properties in Celista placed on evacuation order due to Lower East Adams Lake wildfire
CELISTA, B.C. — Properties in Celista are now on evacuation order due to the Lower East Adams Lake wildfire.
In an alert late Thursday (Aug. 17) night, the Columbia Shuswap Regional District (CSRD) issued an evacuation order for properties 4001 to 4596 Meadow Creek Rd. due to the nearby 10,000-hectare wildfire.
While the fire remains very visible along Shuswap Lake, the BC Wildfire Service says there is no organized spread south of the powerlines, and crews remain on site patrolling for hot spots and extinguishing them.
Early Friday morning, the CSRD also expanded its evacuation alert to include 4705, 4831 and 4836 Meadow Creek Road and 4989 and 4993 Line 17 Road. They join Lee Creek and Scotch Creek on evacuation alert.
