Strict water restrictions now in place as Kamloops faces Level 5 drought
KAMLOOPS — A week after the City of Kamloops announced strict water restrictions due to Level 5 drought, the city began enforcing those restrictions on residents Monday (Aug. 14).
Those restrictions include outdoor watering only through handheld nozzles. Irrigating with sprinklers is not allowed. Those who are spotted violating the restrictions can face fines ranging from $25 to $1,000.
“We’ll continue to attend all calls for service and prioritize them on a daily basis and watering restrictions again being high impacts to health and environment will meet the threshold for a priority one style call.” Emergency Preparedness Manager Will Beatty told CFJC Today.
