KAMLOOPS — The International Buskers Festival has made its return to Kamloops for a fourth year.

Entertainers from around the world are displaying their talent at Riverside Park until the end of the weekend. Organizers for the event say the attendance this year looks better with no more construction at the park.

“ It’s been a much better start,” Event Manager Audrey Trim told CFJC Today. ” Last year we had a few issues with the construction and no water park, no beach and it being 40 degrees so this year has been a lot better. There’s a lot of people in the park and we’re off to a really strong start for Thursday and Friday so it’s been really nice to see.”

Entertainment, music and art are all part of the four day festival. The best part about this all, it’s free to watch with half a dozen performers showing their talents each day.

“We have six performers so we have two people’s choice award winners who returned this year and then we have four new performers who have never been here before.” Trim said.

One of those performers who returned this year is the Street Circus. The guinness-record performers say there’s something unique about showcasing their talents at the buskers.

“The immediate feedback from your audience,” Daniel & Kimberly Craig from the Street Circus said. “You’re not on a stage that’s 20 or 30 feet or meters away they’re right in front of you so you can really feel the energy from your audience and no matter what you’re doing, to get that feedback and you feel what they’re feeling and to me that’s one of the most special parts about busking.”

You can checkout the performance schedule on the Kamloops Buskers website. The festival will end on July 30.
