KAMLOOPS — A Kamloops lawyer will start a three-month suspension in September after being found guilty of professional misconduct.

The Law Society of B.C. (LSBC) issued its decision in the case of Nick Weiser Tuesday (July 25).

In a news release, LSBC says Weiser will also be fined $11,384.

The LSBC hearing panel found had practiced law in March 2021 while under suspension, despite having detailed information spelling out what he could and could not do while suspended.

The panel added Weiser “repeatedly failed to respond to the Law Society’s requests in a timely manner and failed to provide full and substantive responses.”

It noted Weiser’s record “shows pattern of ignoring requests made by the Law Society.”

His suspension will begin on September 25.
