KAMLOOPS — A young woman fell 70 metres down an embankment near McLure Saturday (July 22) afternoon.

In a news release, Kamloops Search and Rescue (KSAR) say they were called to Struthers Creek Falls after the woman was unable to climb back up the trail.

The woman’s friend was also at the bottom of the embankment and could not get back up. KSAR says it was a short hike of nearly 400 metres to the falls and the pair only had flip flops and bathing suits.

KSAR say they set up a rope rescue system to pull out the pair. Both were treated for minor injuries and were shaken up but are doing well.
