Two sent to hospital in morning crash in downtown Kamloops

KAMLOOPS — Two cyclists were sent to hospital following a crash late Tuesday morning near the intersection of Fifth Avenue and Lansdowne Street in Kamloops.

Kamloops RCMP say emergency responders were called out to the scene at 11:40 a.m. They immediately closed Lansdowne between Fifth and Sixth Avenues to deal with the incident.

According to police, the cyclists were involved in a collision with an SUV. Both were sent to hospital. The nature of their injuries has not been released.

Police reopened one lane of traffic along Lansdowne shortly after 1 p.m.
