KAMLOOPS — Monday morning’s electrical storm was likely behind a wildfire spotted just south of the Harper Mountain ski and snowboard area late this morning.
The BC Wildfire Service said the small McGregor Creek fire was spotted at 11:23 a.m. One helicopter and an initial attack crew of four were on the scene shortly after the blaze was spotted.
While the fire is considered out of control, it is very small and considered a spot fire.
As of Monday afternoon, the BC Wildfire Service says there are 383 active wildfires in the province.
