Two sent to hospital, roadway closed for hours after Coquihalla Highway collision Monday
UPDATE (11:00 a.m.): Ryan Panton, strategic communications and media relations manager for the BC Coroners Service, says he’s unaware of any Coroners involvement in Monday’s Coquihalla Highway incident.
EARLIER: MERRITT, B.C. — Two patients were sent to hospital after a vehicle incident on the Coquihalla Highway between Hope and Merritt.
BC Emergency Health Services confirmed four ambulances and two helicopters were sent at around 2:00 p.m. Monday (July 10) after a collision on the 3300-block of Highway 5.
At around 3:00 p.m. Monday, DriveBC reported the southbound lanes of the stretch of Highway 5 were closed at Box Canyon. Southbound traffic did not resume until around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday. The northbound lanes were also closed from around 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday.
