Heavy rain causes flooding in parts of downtown Kamloops

KAMLOOPS – Heavy rain that hit the city of Kamloops this afternoon has caused flash flood in parts of the downtown area.

According to RCMP, those driving across the Overlanders Bridge into downtown are being re-routed to take the summit connector.

Drivers going westbound in downtown towards the bridge are allowed to do so, but are not allowed to go under to take the summit connector.

Police also add that one car was towed as a result of the flash flood. City crews are working to clean up debris in the area.
